TRAKTOR is great for honing your beatmatching skills, but you can also blend genres and bridge BPMs by letting TRAKTOR PRO 3 do some of the work. Hitting the Sync button quickly gets your tracks beat-matched, so you have plenty of time to experiment with your mix.
- Sep 19, 2011 hi all so I finally got win 7 installed, but i still get the odd crackle or dropout with traktor! My audio settings are running at 44100hz with 128m latency and 3m usb. My total latency is running below 10 and thats about the best I can get it to sound. I also run the djtt script and switch off wifi and im running the asio4all drivers. Is there anything else im missing? Any advice is.
- (this should well be enough power to run Traktor) I did run the same Setup on a 2017 Macbook Pro 13' (2.3 GHz i5, 8gb RAM) with the same version of High Sierra and Traktor worked rocksolid, always, even with other applications running in the background (Adobe Auditon, iTunes, Google Chrome).
- Sep 13, 2012 TRAKTOR SCRATCH PRO 2's TruWave hi-res colored waveforms and new simplified user interface give you a new perspective on your mix and allow for instant creativity with the Sample Decks Loop Recorder and studio-quality effects. With TRAKTOR 2 technology inside you'll get a DJ product guaranteed to be intuitive creative and addictive.
- I have used traktor pro for a while also i've used faderfox, xp10s and korg nano with a less powerfull laptop and this dell - no problem. I have tried s4 on my desktop (core i7 / 267ghz / 6 gig ram / windows7 64) no problem with sound still cant change latency tho. I am going to borrow my mates laptop and try that will let you know if it works.
- The added benefit to doing this is that the 32-bit version of Traktor Pro 2.8 allows you to access an additional 1GB of RAM (if the computer has it available), providing for additional performance and stability. To launch Traktor Pro 2.8 in 32-bit mode, we recommend following the steps suggested below.
- Sep 13, 2012 If you are using traktor, or other Dj software, and experience drop in sound and other thinga you might want to try.
I’ve just installed the new version of traktor, and I cannot go back to the previous version as both laptops were wiped clean.
When using my laptop speakers. Headphones. Audio 6 soundcard there is a crackle and pops on every song.
Not very loud but you can notice it and it’s very annoying.
This doesnt happen in iTunes Or ableton when playing a song through speakers , headphones etcSo I know it’s traktor.
Is there anyway of going back to previous version or does anyone have this problem and has found a solution?
ThanksI hope so as I will have to use traktor eh tonight. Hopefully I can get it fixed before Friday.
Increase buffer size in audio settings??
Re-install sound card drivers (if you remembered to install them in the first place 🙂 )
bob6397
buffer size = latency in traktor settings 🙂
Also check that it isn’t set as the default windows playback device. If it is change that to the built in soundcard, then restart all running programs. This can cause sample rate issues as chrome/IE/firefox/iTunes run your soundcard at 44.1kHz but traktor will want to run at 48kHz or 96kHz – this can cause crackling.
^Ignore the arrow – Just pointing out the settings page. Make sure the latency is at least 512, then decrease until it starts crackling again. This will fins the lowest level it can be on your system (lower = less time delay through soundcard)

At the risk of sounding stupid………..
If you’re on a Windows laptop try switching off EVERYTHING that is not essential to Traktor.
ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery
CD/DVD RW
Wireless and Bluetooth
Webcam
On board sound cardAlso look at your background tasks and “end process” on anything unnecessary.
What OS are you running? Are you on an older version of Windows/OSX (You still havent said which – that could really help here as problems are different on different systems..) ???
Why can’t you change the latency when going through the laptop speakers?? I can.. (I am on VDJ8 though so it’s a bit different….)
Is it just the laptop speakers that are crackling or does the Audio 6 crackle too?
I am still going with a driver and/or setting (most likely latency) problem.
Mat, I’ve had the exact same problem and it seems that a lot of users have had this issue with 2.7.3. I’ve found that if you zoom into the waveform at the points where the sound issues are, it can be seen that there are audio gaps and omissions repeatedly in the track. Therefore it is not a sound card issue, but in fact an issue with the software. When I’ve reverted back to using 2.6.8 there is no longer such issues with the audio. Therefore it seems to be an issue with 2.7.3. I’m waiting on a reply from the Native Instruments support team with regards to this problem but if it’s simply a glitch in the software hopefully it will be fixed soon with an update. This guy shows the problem, where it seems to be a bit more extreme in his case: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=up7cXUOYNok

Traktor Pro 2 Latency Settings
After installing Traktor Pro 2 with the current Audio 8 DJ driver, I noticed quite a lot of little clicks / glitches. Same thing even when I switched back to Traktor Pro and both were on Eco mode since my 2 year old notebooks don't take the HIQ mode too well although they both ran Traktor Pro perfectly.
I then uninstalled the current driver and went back to the old one with the same settings as before. Weird. Same thing. Clicks here and there so it's definitely something to do with the drivers' (both old and new) settings since I can hear clicks even when using Windows Media Player with audio out through the Audio 8 DJ.
Has the Traktor Pro 2 installation corrupted something along the line because even when I use Traktor Pro with the older Audio 8 DJ driver, I still get the clicks in quite a few combinations. Only disappear when I go up to 10 + ms latency.
In the old Traktor Pro, it said 5.5ms but in the new one, I'm shown to be at 11.3ms with Processing taking 6ms and Output 5.3ms. Am I wrong to say that the older Traktor Pro was showing only the Output latency instead of including the processing delay as well which means that the 5.5ms reported in the old Traktor Pro is the same as 11.3 total latency reported in Traktor Pro 2?
ps. Sorry for being long winded.
